A grand street with lots of important buildings, many with Blue Plaques, thanks to Yangon Heritage Trust: http://www.yangonheritagetrust.org.
Other things that caught our eye:
*1 A bespoke perfume shop – make your own!
*2 Basic Education High School no 6 – previously St Paul’s School, a Blue Plaque school.
*3 The grand architecture of the Secretariat building, open for guided tours every day.
*4 Another blue plaque building – the Government Central Press.
*5 And another blue plaque building – the YMCA and the only place in Yangon where anyone could watch and participate in the national sport of kick-boxing or lethwai. It’s currently closed, but we hope it will open again one day.
*6 Watch them making naan just beside the South Indian restaurant here – slapping it on the sides of the hot outdoor tandoor.
