The middle block of this wide street is the lively block with tea-shops, family-style Chinese restaurants, and cafes. The lower block has some lovely architecture, and is more residential.

Other things that caught our eye (just the one in this case):
*1 Not on Shwe Taung Tan itself, but on Mahabandoola between Shwe Taung Tan and 15th street is an interesting fabric shop selling good material by the yard.
