This blog is part of a project to map downtown Yangon, showing what businesses you can find on what streets: everyone knows there is a stationery street, a pots and pans street, a sewing street, a suitcase/bag repair street, an electronics street etc. etc. but many of us never remember where they are, so we thought it would be a good idea to produce a map. 

And thus the Explorers (part of the Yangon Newcomers Group) volunteered their time, and armed with clipboards and curiosity, we mapped the streets, one by one. The blog came about as a means to share what we gathered as we went along. But the street map in blog format turned out to be quite useful, especially as it has a search function, and so we decided to keep it in parallel with the written version (on sale at Hla Day) – we hope you like it and please don’t hesitate to point out our mistakes!
