Sint Oh Dan is a celebrity street where the Lion and Dragon Dance competition for Chinese New Year is held. You can find videos from previous years on its own YouTube channel, but the competition has not been held for the past few years, for various reasons: www.youtube.com/user/sintohdanstreet/feed. (Thanks to Yangon Time machine for this information – www.yangontimemachine.com/2019/03/21/old-downtown-chinatown-temple-guanyin/).
It is also the place to go if you are feeling hungry for family-style Chinese food – the street has many small cafes, restaurants and tea-shops. Myanmore wrote about the cafes and recommended these places in May 2022: https://www.myanmore.com/2022/05/hunting-street-food-in-yangon-sint-oh-dan-street/?amp=1
And there is the beautiful Kheng Hock Keong Temple at the Strand end of the street.
Other things that caught our eye:
*1 Learn the Chinese language for a very reasonable price at the Fuxing Confucius Classroom (no.110).
*2 and * 3 Clan houses.
*4 A tea shop of a different kind – selling loose tea and export quality pickled tea.
